Barzman, Kasimov and Vieth, D.D.S., P.C. (BKV) Expand Pediatric Services with New Division — BKV for Kids
Barzman, Kasimov and Vieth, D.D.S. (BKV), a local provider of comprehensive dentistry, recently announced another reason for families to smile - the addition of a new division of pediatric services, BKV for Kids.
Pediatric dentistry is becoming more and more important and BKV has found it necessary to expand this segment to properly serve Western New York families. Currently BKV for Kids consists of two pediatric dentists, Dr. Mary Hauk and Dr. Amy Cryan, and a supporting staff of hygienists. Pediatric dentists and staff are trained to meet the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents including persons with special health care needs. After becoming dentists, Dr. Mary and Dr. Amy trained for an additional two to three years to better provide children with optimal oral health care.
Our goal, along with our staff, is to help all children feel good about visiting the dentist and teach them how to properly care for their teeth,” says Dr. Amy. From BKV for Kid’s special office designs, to their communication style, the main concern is what is best for the child. “Good oral health is an important part of total health,” continues Amy. “Establishing a ‘Dental Home’ by the time your child's first tooth erupts, or no later than one year of age, is important for many reasons. This window of time allows for proper oral hygiene and nutrition education for the caregiver. It also allows us the opportunity to implement preventive dental health habits to help keep your child cavity free.” Children with healthy teeth chew food easily, learn to speak clearly, and smile with confidence.
We are currently working on a website, www.bkvforkids.com, and a quarterly newsletter to help keep our patients and their families educated on correct dental habits,” said Dr. Mary. “The goal is to make going to the dentist a fun experience and not a frightening one. If a child starts early, it will seem more natural to them. It is never too early to take your child in for their first dental appointment.”

ECC Foundation Receives $250,000 for School of Dental Hygiene Naming Rights
The Erie Community College Foundation has received a $250,000 donation from
Barzman, Kasimov and Vieth, D.D.S., P.C. for naming rights of the ECC
School of Dental Hygiene.
An Open House and Center Dedication Ceremony was held on Thursday, May 20, at 4 p.m., at the facility located at the ECC North Campus, 6205 Main Street, Williamsville.
The recently renovated dental hygiene facility will be renamed the "ECC School of Dental Hygiene Barzman, Kasimov, & Vieth, D.D.S., P.C., Center" in recognition of their contribution to the college. The donation will also fund two yearly scholarships for dental hygiene students and will ensure that the school continues to offer a program of high academic excellence. The donation was made to the ECC Foundation on behalf of the ECC School of Dental Hygiene.
"We are pleased to be providing additional resources to the School of Dental Hygiene to help ensure that they continue with a high quality program at ECC," said Dr. Jerald J. Kasimov, D.D.S., a partner at Barzman, Kasimov, & Vieth.
